0. Intro

Parsec.finance is one-stop DeFi analytics that provides all kinds of DeFi data to help with your trading strategies.

If you’re a DeFi user, you must have the experience of opening up tons of websites to gather around data. For example, say I’m interested in Aave and want to know:

  • who else is on the lending market battlefield
  • the utilization ratio, historical lending rates & TVL (total volume locked) of each lending market
  • AAVE, it’s token price; comparison with COMP (Compound’s token)
  • where to gain access to leverage trading AAVE and what’s the funding rate of each market
  • how to monitor transactions if not a developer

To answer some of these questions, this is how one’s screen will become:

  1. coingecko: all listed exchanges, including decentralised and centralised, but cannot really tell them apart
  2. aave.com: the utilization ratio, lending rates (not historical) & TVL
  3. defipulse: competitors and the TVL ranking
  4. tradingview: candle charts and the token price comparison

We’re still missing quite a lof info even with these four websites…

This is where Parsec comes to clean the 💩 up.

How do you fit all those, on the screen?

Who would choose to open up so many tabs and switching between them while Parsec.finance has them all (mostly)?

1. Who is it for?

Anyone! DeFi researchers, developers, pro traders, newbie traders, your grandma and your 🐈 (jk)

For anyone who spends more than ten minutes per day checking out DeFi data, PARSEC IS FOR YOU! 📈📈📈

Even if you’re a developer and have your own scripts to track all those data, you might still want to try Parsec out for the following reasons:

  • Quite a lot of blocks can be fit into the size of your screen, in the customized layout that you feel most comfortable with.
  • There are always more features coming in, which can serve as new inspirations for your own strategies!
  • This is more of a subjective one, but I believe most people would agree with me: the design and styling are amazing! A developer might have all the data, but can one make such beautiful charts as they do? ̶D̶M̶ ̶m̶e̶ ̶i̶f̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶m̶a̶d̶e̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶p̶u̶b̶l̶i̶c̶. 😆
Look at this Index Fund Composition chart. I can stare at it all day for sure.

2. Show me some cool features and charts!

No more brainwashing. This section is the editor’s choices of features!

  • DeFi Firehose: the non-stop stream of on-chain transactions; does not serve much for me but totally gives the hype feeling 🤣
  • Lending Markets: will definitely check this out before lending; the utilization ratio bar is extremely clear!
Grouped by protocol
Grouped by asset
  • Perpetual Contracts Table: currently supporting only Perpetual Protocol and dydx. By clicking on a trading pair, the section is expanded for greater details (currently data of pairs on dydx seem missing; only for pairs on Perpetual Protocol).
The amount of information is overwhelming! Awesome!!
  • Liquidation Charts: similar to the above liquidation prices of pairs on Perpetual Protocol, there are also liquidation prices chart for lending markets!
The colour scheme here is not really ideal though.
  • Trending Contracts: explore what everyone’s playing with! Uniswap is always at the top 🦄 👑 & v3’s coming 🎉🎉🎉
  • Asset Correlations: though I totally cannot figure anything out from this insanely complicated correlation chart, let’s admit this: it is COOL. We can also check out the correlations in our portfolio and make risk management decisions!
Mosaic NFT
Customise your own one!

For my personal layouts, I have:

  • Price Candle is always a must
  • Market Cap gives an overview of the market at a glance
  • It’s so convenient to have data such as circulation supply in Asset Overview; always want to know that of each token but never bother doing so, which means checking out the documentation of each DeFi project 😅
  • Newsfeed daily dose 💊
  • Trending Asset is a good way to find new projects and potential tokens 📈

Tips: Click on the 🔒 layout button on the top-left corner and you’re ready to customize the layout!

3. Digression & conclusion

There is one thing I personally am not satisfied with: the payment.

I pull out my Trezor and click on the Join Parsec button, finding this sci-fi-cosmos-style background and … credit card 🧯🔥

I was looking forward to a Metamask button with elaborately designed smart contracts that charge with Dai or USDC and perhaps some staking or crazy yield farming shxt… guess I asking for too much 🥺

Anyway, Parsec is by far the most useful and enjoyable DeFi Analytics site. I’ve introduced several features of the platform but there are far more to be explored!

Start the free trial now and you won’t be able to stop yourself from dragging around with those lovely little blocks and charts and eventually finalising on your favourite layout. 😂😂😂

Disclaimer: This article is not an ad nor sponsorship but me sharing my fondness toward Parsec.finance 😊
